Ever since visiting Yunnan province, in China, I keep thinking about all the long lasting materials they were using. In China, all of the buildings were built with traditional materials: stone, plaster, tile, and wood. (The modern high rises and mediterranean style concrete houses are their new type of construction.)
This is a series of pictures and videos that shows the lime mortar for sale in bags, followed by its use in the installation of their traditional roof tiles. There are two versions of roof tiles, which are glazed and unglazed. Glazed are more expensive, and last longer. The unglazed are more commonly encountered on most of the residential houses.
