Whether we are conducting a complete renovation, adding an addition, or building a new home, our company handles all phases of carpentry from rough framing to finish work, tile, plasterwork, and specialty roofing. We have our own workshop, where we make custom trim, doors, windows, and any other millwork necessary to support the project.
We do all of this to control quality. As an example, if the rough framing is done to a high standard, then all of the following steps will have a better result.
We incorporate the knowledge that we have gained through our historical preservation and restoration work into our new construction. We have studied historic materials, and have opinions about the proper way to construct new houses; the answers exist in older structures. Both materials and craftsmanship play an important role.
The key to building a top quality house that will last lies in the historic structures around us. Quality materials like lime mortar, bricks, slate, copper, and stucco are long-lasting and low maintenance. Proper flashings and roofing, and high foundations are essential to water management. Our new homes are built using quality materials and building methods that stand the test of time. We also have relationships with some excellent architects that we can refer.
