Glass and copper is a beautiful combination with wood. The Sapele woodwork, and insulated tempered glass units are capped off with copper detailing.
Storefronts are a very interesting sub-section of millwork. In old buildings, they are especially tricky, as the openings are not plumb and square. We recently completed this storefront, and made it using Sapele wood, a very rot resistant species. For longevity, we used all solid wood for all components.
I love doing traditional millwork, and this project was intended to make the three separate spaces unique. Chris Robare, our cabinetmaker, was the brains behind this execution. Enjoy the pictures! DL
